Microsoft has just released Update Rollup 7 for CRM 4.0.
This latest cumulative update promises significant software improvements to the Outlook CRM client, as well as adding support for Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2.
The Microsoft CRM for Outlook client has been significantly updated in rollup 7 to improve performance, reduce sign-in time and provide a better, more responsive user experience. Many of the processes (including CRM synchronisation and e-mail tracking) run in the background in this latest version.
The synchronisation process has also been updated to improve reliability and to ensure that changes are propagated the the CRM server reliably.
Additionally this latest version of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Outlook client software is designed to be simpler to configure than previous versions – again improving the overall user experience.
Update Rollup 7 will be a pre-requisite for future Outlook CRM Client updates, as it makes schema changes to the offline database. For this reason, it will not be possible to remove update rollup 7 once it is installed on the client.
